Gloves
This is a pair of paw-like mittens. I wrote the pattern, and the yarn is ?? in grey and pink.
I saw a pair of actual paw-type mittens for a baby that included all 5 fingers in the mitten and thought "aw, thats cute! I should make those for big people!" so I made a pair for Steph. :) The pads on the fingers feel a little weird and are small crocheted circles sewn on. The pattern is similar to my toe-up toe sock pattern, but with tiny nubs for the fingertips.
This is the first pair of gloves I made. I used the Knucks pattern from Knitty.com, the yarn is Lion Brand Magic Stripes in Jelly Bean.
I used this yarn since it was leftover from making Jameel's Socks and seemed to be a fun yarn for a first attempt at glove-making.The pattern was really easy to follow and I highly recommend it for knitters of any level.
What makes it interesting to me is the fact that its a top-down method--
all of the other glove patterns I've seen start at the cuff and go up, but here you make the fingers first and knit down.
I really like the way this method makes a nice seam along the thumb line and I plant to try using this technique for a pair of glove/mittens.
